Principal's Message

I feel honoured and privileged to be part of an educational institution where every stakeholder is a learner and every day is an opportunity to learn and grow. We look at ourselves as a community of learners, where everyone learns including our teachers, parents, students & staff with high expectations. The role of our college is not only to pursue academic excellence but also to motivate and empower our students to be lifelong learners, critical thinkers and productive members of a dynamic global society.

Carmelgiri College, which is being run under the well-established management of Carmelite sisters of Idukki province has earned its name and fame by imparting excellent education for more than 25 years. From the modest beginnings in the milieu of the rural counterpart of Idukki District, we have flourished into an institution of prominence by being of service to every aspirant and every sect of the society. Here, we provide an atmosphere for multifaceted development where children are encouraged to channelize their potential in the pursuit of excellence. While academic excellence is our major thrust, the college is also devoted to prepare the students for life, groom them to face the challenges of tomorrow, and encourage them to be socially relevant. We constantly endeavour to always live up to this ideology and inculcate this into everything we do, with the aim that we will be able to ensure that the children grow to their full potential, while constantly being groomed to pass out as men and women competent to bear responsibility in all walks of life. The parents are the most strengthening power in moulding the future of children. Their consistent support empowers us to do more and more. We pay our gratitude to them for their faith in us.

To accomplish our mission and vision, we are prepared to take as much effort as possible for the betterment of the academic scenario in India. Carmelgiri College cares for the individual development of each student. We record prime importance to the behavioural discipline, moral integrity and cognitive development of our students. Carmelgiri College not only focuses on the theoretical curriculum but also help in the development of a student personality, extra-curricular activities and overall perspective. Apart from the moral responsibility to provide an atmosphere for the spiritual, mental and physical growth of the students, our college also inculcates analytical abilities, confidence in oneself, and instils the vision that will enable the student to serve the best interests of humanity. I should take this opportunity to exalt the constant support and encouragement of all the stakeholders which is certain to take us to further heights
