The Department of English at Carmelgiri College, enhances the interpretative and expressive skills of students from its inception in 2013. The faculty at the department are keen on inculcating literary interests and critical attitude among the students. The focus is on understanding life better to lead a happy and contented life experience whatever the situation is faced by one. It equips students with both a rigorous knowledge of the subject as well as a critical and analytical ability. The classes are lively, interactive spaces where students are encouraged to share their own perceptions, ask searching questions, and engage in discussions in an atmosphere that fosters self-expression balanced with respect for the right of others to voice their opinions.
